Sports Broadcaster (Job Number: 0173368)
Job Purpose: This position serves as the face and voice of Georgia Tech Athletics in all radio and video production.
Major Responsibilities:
-Serve as the radio play-by-play voice for all football and mens basketball radio broadcasts.
-Provide oversight and leadership for assigned areas of responsibility, which includes all Athletic broadcasts.
-In conjunction with Director of Video Operation, communications, marketing and IMG, produce weekly coach television and radio shows for football and mens basketball.
-Partner with IMG Sports regarding advertising and fulfillment obligations.
-Advise and collaborate with video staff on motivational and highlight videos as needed.
-Work with Marketing, Alexander-Tharpe and the Alumni Association to represent Georgia Tech Athletics at various event functions as requested.
-Assist with articles and other elements for use in athletic publications, web site, or social media.
-Perform other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
-Education: Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Communications, or another related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
-Work Experience: Five to seven years job related experience, including at least one year of NFL or NCAA football play-by-play experience.
-Skills: This job requires excellent skills including public speaking, written and verbal communication, media production, in-depth knowledge of football, basketball, and baseball rules, tactics, and strategies; excellent interpersonal skills; working knowledge of computers and video equipment.
