Broadcaster/Media Relations (INTERNSHIP) - Gateway Grizzlies (St. Louis, Mo)
The Gateway Grizzlies, professional baseball team and member of the Frontier League, are currently in search of a Broadcasting/Media Relations assistant for the 2017 baseball season.
The position provides interested and qualified candidates the opportunity to gain valuable experience in professional sports. The person will work directly with the Grizzlies Broadcaster as well as with the Director of Media Relations. This is a broadcasting position. The chosen candidate will serve as the No. 2 on-air broadcaster on home games. Previous on-air experience is strongly preferred. Qualified candidates will possess good writing skills and working knowledge of computer applications. Candidate will also have knowledge of the game of baseball. Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist in the compilation and production of team’s written material including: media guide, season program and score cards
Production and distribution of press notes/stats package on game days
Compilation of newspaper clippings throughout the season
Supervision of press box on game nights, including supervision of some game day staff
Assist in updating website throughout the season
Assist in dealing with print and electronic media members on game nights
Assist in dealing with team’s radio stations throughout the season. The position begins in May and lasts until the end of the season.
