Broadcast Internship - Stockton Thunder (Stockton, CA)
We need a passionate and knowledgeable person with aspirations in play-by-play or talk radio to assist in our broadcasts during the 2014-15 season.
You must be eager to learn, approachable, professional, and have a work ethic and attitude that a player on the fourth line has. You will be an important cog who will be asked to work hard while reaping the benefits of starting your career with a professional sports franchise.
This internship is for credit only and requires you to be at every home game, but the more events and away games you work, the more you will learn and hone your skills.
Responsibilities:
• Ability to provide score/sports updates during intermission reports
• An interest in hockey play-by-play and a desire to call local hockey games, men’s recreational games, and the skills competition
• Knowledge of video and/or audio editing
• Ability to write and produce content for our “Nightly Notes” game program, provided to fans in print and online versions
• Experience with social media marketing
• Produce and star in a weekly podcast
• Knowledge of audio consoles and ability to produce audio broadcasts
• Assist broadcast talent (starting line-ups, intermission and post-game stats, etc..) on and off the microphone
• Ability to assist as a Media Relations contact
• Assist in projects within other areas of the team
• Must be able to develop a professional relationship with players, operations staff and the front office
