Job Description
Play-by-play of CU Women’s Basketball on our sister-station (KKZN); host weekly Rockies pregame talk show; serve as primary back-up host for KOA’s evening sports talk show; serve as primary back-up anchor for KOA morning and afternoon sportscasts; cover Denver sports teams.
Required Skills
Clear Channel’s NewsRadio 850 KOA has an immediate full-time opening for an experienced play-by-play announcer/anchor/host/reporter to join our sports department. KOA is serious about sports coverage. We are the flagship station of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and University of Colorado Football and Basketball.
Requirements
Previous play-by-play, hosting and anchoring experience is a must; strong writing and production skills; must be able to travel extensively during basketball season and handle technical set-up for road games; must be able to work independently and as part of a team; must present a professional appearance at all times while representing KOA; must work well with the sales department.
Report to and work with the Sports Director on matters of news and sports, including but not limited to content and format of same.
Follow FCC and station procedures regarding FCC license, on-air responsibilities and maintenance of program and transmitter logs.
Required Experience
High School Diploma; College degree preferred.
Ability to operate broadcast equipment.
Must be a fast learner and self-starter capable of doing more than one thing at a time.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Knowledge of all FCC rules and regulations.
Valid driver’s license.
