Full Time Media Relations & Broadcasting Internship - Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (Waldorf, MD)
The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs are accepting applications for the media relations/broadcasting position in their full time internship program. This entry level position would start on March 16 and end on September 16.
The Blue Crabs are looking for a motivated candidate to handle multiple responsibilities. The candidate will learn all aspects of running a professional franchise, such as: sales, marketing, operations, ticketing, customer service, and more.
Previous broadcasting experience in baseball is required of all applicants. Strong writing and verbal skills are essential, as is the ability to work well in a dynamic, small-office environment.
- Broadcasting play-by-play and color analysis for home games
- Writing and distributing periodic press releases and media advisories
- Compiling stat packs, rosters, game notes and game recaps for media and web use
-Acting as a liaison and providing support to media covering the Blue Crabs
- Assisting in helping to create the Today's Catch Playbill Publication
- Interacting with fans in a customer friendly fashion.
-Serving as support staff for all other departments on an “as needed” basis.
-Long Hours
This is a full-time commitment. All applicants need to include a detailed cover letter with their application. Workdays during the season average around 14-15 hours per day.
