Assistant Director, Broadcasting - Old Dominion Sports Properties (Norfolk, VA)
CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, the exclusive marketing and multi-media rights partner of Old Dominion University, is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Assistant Director of Broadcasting with Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Job Summary This position will assist in all facets of video and radio production related to the promotion of ODU Athletics, broadcast of ODU Athletic events and fulfillment of partnership contracts.
Job responsibilities to include the following:
• Color Analyst for all home and away men’s basketball games. Candidate must have full knowledge of the rules and strategies of the game of basketball and a proven ability to relay in radio format. On-air responsibilities will include: appearance on pre-game and post-game show radio shows; execution of coach and guest interviews during the game broadcast; analysis of on-going game action and review of evolving game strategies; availability and ability to travel to all away basketball games during each season.
• Television: Provide color analysis for all locally produced basketball telecasts of home ODU men’s or women’s basketball.
• Writing and recording of select partner commercial radio spots
• Assist the Director of Broadcasting with daily contract management on current flagship radio agreement.
• Video: Produce, edit and develop video content for distribution on odusports.com and conference digital network for men’s basketball.
• Event management: Assist in coordination of ODU Sports Properties client events including public speaking and coordination of speakers
• Donor Relations: Coordinate and attend donor and donor prospect meetings with current Athletic Director and Director of Old Dominion Athletic Fund.
• Business Development: Attend select partner meetings to reinforce existing business relationships and develop new business relationships in the community.
• Community Relations: Attend and speak at select community events during the year as a representative of ODU Sports Properties and the ODU Athletic Department. Compensation includes a salary plus plus company benefits.
