Color Commentator - Reno 1868 FC (Reno, NV)
Background: Reno 1868 FC, the top affiliate of the San Jose Earthquakes, is Northern Nevada's premier professional soccer organization. Beginning play in February 2017, the club will play a 18 home match schedule at Greater Nevada Field as a part of the United Soccer League.
Greater Nevada Field is also home to the Freight House District, a one-of-a-kind four-venue restaurant and entertainment venue, Slaughter House in the month of October – the area’s largest haunted house – and ice skating from November to February – Reno’s only outdoor ice rink.
Position Summary: Reno 1868 FC is seeking a color commentator for the streaming video broadcast of all 18 home matches during the 2017 season. The schedule runs from February to October.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Work alongside play-by-play broadcaster
Work in conjunction with play-by-play broadcaster to perform pre-game interviews (or call coaches during the week) to learn about the upcoming matches
Read in-game sponsorship, advertisements, self-promotions
Qualifications:
Ability to work all home matches
Previous on-air experience
Extensive knowledge of soccer preferred but also the ability to learn and study the league and players
