Media Relations & Broadcast Assistant - Biloxi Shuckers (Biloxi, MS)
The Biloxi Shuckers the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers are hiring a Media Relations and Broadcasting Assistant for the 2018 season.
Supervisor: Chris Harris, Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting
Start date: January 2018 (willing to be flexible for the right candidate)
End date: End of the season (early/mid-September, depending on playoffs)
Compensation: TBA
Job Responsibility Areas:
Writing:
- Assist in producing feature stories and content for gameday program
- Write game recaps & feature stories for the team website and blog
- Assist in writing press releases concerning roster moves or other club news
Media Relations:
- Assist with all media relations efforts including issuing press releases, accommodating interview requests, administering media credentials, creating & distributing daily stat packs as well as other media information and other related duties
- Primary producer of daily game notes (experience is important)
- Print and supply rosters, game notes and stat packs for the press box and clubhouse
- Assist with social media and team blog efforts
- Assist in updating team website as needed
Broadcasting:
- Select Play-by-Play during home games and produce all games on our flagship station
- Postgame interviews on the field for in-stadium and radio broadcast
- Co-host pre- and post-game shows for all 140 games
- Engineer road game broadcasts from Coast Radio Studios
- Interview players & coaches for broadcasts, features and team publications. (Creativity is important)
- Serve as point person for any broadcast format changes during the season and keep radio commercials up-to-date
- Edit and produce audio elements, including highlights, interviews, commercials & radio imaging
- Produce weekly Southern League and Milwaukee Brewers affiliate’s podcasts
- Be proficient in video editing software
Candidates should:
- Possess strong character, be reliable and trustworthy
- Demonstrate strong writing skills
- Have radio play-by-play and media relations experience (preference given to pro baseball experience)
- Have the ability to handle multiple projects at once and maintain high quality of work in a professional setting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, audio editing software, broadcast equipment, and Adobe InDesign
- Be willing to learn, work well with others and have a good attitude
