Lead Broadcaster - River City Rascals (O'Fallon, MO)
The River City Rascals Professional Baseball Team, a member of the Frontier League, are currently in search of a Lead Broadcaster for the remainder of the 2014 season. This position will serve as the lead (and sole) broadcaster for all remaining Rascals games during the season. Position will take on all the responsibilities of a lead broadcaster, including providing equipment and learning how to operate the online format. This position will work under and learn from our current broadcaster for a period of 2 weeks before taking over sole responsibilites. This position will also be given consideration for the full-time broadcast role during the 2015 season.
Responsibilities:
- Broadcast all remaining regular season and playoff Rascals games during the 2014 season. You are REQUIRED to broadcast all regular season games, and any remaining games should the team make the playoffs.
-Be responsible for the entirety of your program, including providing proper equipment and understanding the online format through TalkSTL.com
-Be an upstanding representative of the Rascals organization at home and on the road
-Travel with the team on all road trips, and be professional when interacting with players and coaches
-Act as a liaison between the local media and the Rascals during the season, reaching out to media partners to promote our games and extra events
-Strive to make contacts in the community that could lead to ticket or sponsorship sales for the Rascals organization
Qualifications:
-Previous experience in sports broadcasting is a MUST
-Ability to work all Rascals regular season and playoff games is required; no exceptions
-Provide all equipment necessary to produce online broadcast through TalkSTL.com. Some equipment will be provided for you to produce the broadcast.
-Extensive knowledge of baseball
Stipend: You will receive a one-time, $500 stipend in August.
Meal Money: You will receive approximately $350 in meal money during road trips for the remainder of the season.
