Media Relations/ Radio Broadcast Assistant - Portland Sea Dogs (Portland, ME)
Position: Media Relations/ Radio Broadcast Assistant
Type: Full-Time Seasonal
Start Date: February 16, 2015
End Date: Mid September 2015
Salary: $455.00/ Week
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Previous media relations & broadcasting experience required (preferably in Minor League Baseball)
· MUST be available for the full duration of the position
· Position can require up to 80-100 hours a week during the season
· Computer literate (knowledge of Word and Excel are a must)
· Knowledge of Photoshop & InDesign preferred
· Experience with Social Media Marketing
· Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
· Team Player and friendly personality
· Strong customer service skills
· Ability to multi task with little supervision
Duties:
· Oversee radio board operations staff including scheduling.
· Serve as point person for the Sea Dogs Radio Network which includes: compiling radio logs, producing radio commercials and promos and maintaining a relationship with the other radio affiliates.
· Opportunity, if performance warrants, of limited play-by-play and or color on the Sea Dogs radio network.
· Interview players for feature stories and pre game radio guests.
· Opportunity to host pre-game show.
· Write Game Recaps
· Assist in producing Sea Dogs Souvenir Program including feature stories, player bios, acquisition of photos, etc.
· Assist in the production of the Sea Dogs Media Guide including layout, design, content, and editing.
· Coordinate interview requests with the media and the players.
· Prepare daily stats package and distribute to press box and clubhouse.
· Assist in the maintenance of team website www.seadogs.com.
· Assist in maintaining social networking sites; Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.
· Gather autographed items throughout the season for charity events.
· Upkeep on all statistical archives throughout the years (milestones, team records, etc.)
· Update roster and transactions.
· Produce email newsletters
· Continue to cultivate potential story ideas, upcoming promotions, player achievements, etc for the media.
· Maintain player information sheets with contact information throughout the season.
· Player headshots.
· Assist with the Fan Photo Program
· Manage and organize photo archives.
· Statistical work for televised games.
· Fax, email, and distribute box scores.
· News Clippings
· Write and distribute press releases.
· Research new media outlets to add to our list.
· Assist in producing daily game notes
· Deliver Game Notes, Stats, Rosters, Lineups to press box and clubhouse.
· Gather lineups…post in the concourse, send to MiLB.com, and distribute.
· Set-Up Press Box including cleaning, stats, refill cooler.
· Assist in the production of team baseball card set.
· Help oversee the press box
· Assist with in-game promotions
· Other duties as assigned.
