Job Title Sports Information Sports Broadcaster
Job Group Student
Purpose/Description
To serve as play-by-play announcers, analysts, and commentators at athletic events during broadcasts streamed over the Internet. Separate broadcast crews will be hired for soccer, volleyball, and basketball.
Additional hours will be available to prepare for broadcasts as well as the set up/take down equipment.
Required Qualifications
Must be a current or incoming CSS student.
Candidates must be well spoken, be able to adjust in a non-stop, ever-changing environment, and have thorough understanding of the sport(s) they are broadcasting and also the technical aspect of doing a broadcast. Candidates must be willing to do paid training and be committed to assignments.
Candidates must be extremely detail-oriented and willing to occasionally work long, non-traditional hours, including nights/weekends. Candidates must be available to work most—if not all—home events for the sports they are applying to cover.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous sports broadcasting experience is preferred but not necessary.
5-10 hours per week
