Summer Internship: Broadcasting - Lake Erie Crushers (Avon, OH)
The Lake Erie Crushers are looking for interns for the 2015 summer baseball season (May 2015-September 2015. As a Lake Erie Crushers’ intern you will be given the opportunity to experience and partake in the broadcasting aspect of how a professional baseball team operates.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Communicate interesting story lines and commentary while accurately describing the game to listeners on air with Broadcaster, Andy "Bull" Barch.
Compile and distribute game notes, stats and starting line-up.
Communicating through all Social Media outlets
Prepare game recaps each night to distribute to the media at the conclusion of the game.
Serve as the main liaison with the radio station.
Produce, coordinate and log all sponsor ads and reads during the broadcast.
Assist the Play-By-Play Broadcaster in writing press releases and stories for the webpage and program as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience in sports play-by-play and color broadcasting
Knowledge of all applicable baseball Rules and Regulations
Skill in operation of control board, remote broadcasting and other related production equipment is liked but not necessary
Strong writing skills
Knowledge of Social Media
Candidates must be reliable, detail oriented, able to problem solve and think on their feet, juggle and prioritize multiple projects at one time to ensure completion in timely manner, a strong work ethic and a team work mentality.
Efficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook is required
The position starts mid May and concludes at the end of the season, early September.
This is an unpaid internship, and no housing is provided. College credit can be awarded for completion of this internship, and 5% commission is awarded for group and season ticket sales, or sponsorships sold.
