Director of Media | Community Relations & Broadcasting - Idaho Steelheads (Boise, ID)
SALES
· Minimum of 2 sponsor or ticket sales meetings per week.
· Selling Sponsorship, group tickets, mini-plans, season tickets and suites to companies and individuals for the Steelheads/CenturyLink Arena and other teams or events as directed by your supervisor.
· Prospecting and creating sales opportunities.
· Providing customer service and strong communication skills to your clients and other customers.
· Assisting in fulfillment of sold sponsorships.
PUBLIC | MEDIA RELATIONS
· Provide website content to developer. Update regularly.
· Write all Steelheads/CenturyLink Arena-related press releases.
· Write Steelheads/CenturyLink Arena newsletter content. Assist in the design and timely distribution of such materials.
· Work closely with all Steelheads/CenturyLink Arena staff to ensure the timely dissemination of news.
· Write all content for Steelheads/CenturyLink Arena publications, including, but not limited to the Steelheads/CenturyLink Arena websites, facebook, twitter, game program and blog.
· Communicate in a regular and timely manner all Steelheads/CenturyLink Arena news.
· Plan, organize, host and implement all Steelhead Press Conferences. This includes sending timely invitations to all appropriate media as necessary.
· Coordinate with Idaho Sports Properties President to ensure that the team’s budget is being adhered to for all media-related expense accounts.
· Develop, maintain and store in an organized manner all press releases, clippings, photos, publications, statistics, bios, and all other Steelheads/CenturyLink Arena-related records.
· Coordinate all player appearances, including the scheduling of regular player visits throughout the community.
· Keep all privileged player and company information confidential.
· Meet regularly with local media to provide Steelheads/CenturyLink Arena with top-of-mind awareness. Provide weekly updates to management during Monday morning meetings.
· Serve as emcee at all Steelheads/CenturyLink Arena functions where appropriate.
· Weekly quota of media calls/visits.
· Good organizational skills including data entry, contact management and other sales related functions.
· Appearances at Idaho Steelheads/Boise CenturyLink Arena related functions.
BROADCAST
· Serve as Play-by-Play Broadcaster for all Idaho Steelheads Radio & Television Broadcasts, including pre and post-season games.
· Serve as Host of all Idaho Steelheads Sports Talk Radio Broadcasts, including pre and post shows.
· Produce and direct video wall segments.
· Responsible for the reading of all sponsorship and promotional drops during all TV & radio broadcasts.
· Interact with Steelheads and Arena staff to provide Idaho Steelheads with expected broadcast product.
· Coordinate with Idaho Steelheads Business Manager to ensure that the team’s budget is being adhered to for all broadcast-related expense accounts.
· Coordinate and work directly with the sponsorship sales staff to ensure all sponsor-related radio and television functions are implemented as to reflect positively on the Idaho Steelheads and the sponsors.
· Assist in the quality control for Steelheads sponsorship programs for all radio and television broadcasts.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS
· Create and implement an overall community and public relations program.
· Initiate contacts with local non profits, service clubs, schools, etc.
· Help develop strategy to manage the relationships with these groups, including, but not limited to, scheduling player and/or team appearances, charitable donations, marketing partnerships, promotional opportunities, and media involvement.
· Document implementation of plans, with weekly status reports during Monday morning management meetings.
· Send regular media releases regarding pertinent activities when appropriate to maximize exposure.
MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES:
· Participate in the Creative Think Tank meetings.
· Participate in the budgeting process.
· Keep regular office hours.
· Abide by and adhere to the Block 22 company handbook.
· Other duties as assigned.
